BIOMASS COMBINED HEAT AND POWER
FOR
DELMARVA - Conducted June 12, 2007

Conducted at the Modern Maturity Center, Dover, DE.

Topics covered included: Biomass Supply, Biomass Combined Heat & Power Technology, and Combined Heat & Power Policy Issues. (AGENDA)

Biomass Combined Heat and Power (CHP) is the generation of electricity and the use of heat generation for heating and refrigeration. CHP systems operate at significantly higher efficiencies than conventional utilities, producing energy cost savings. The use of biomass in CHP systems can further reduce energy costs. Biomass fuels also provide an opportunity to decrease greenhouse gas emissions, and create local and regional jobs through markets for forest and woody biomass.
